I rejoice in the gray-blue mist on the water,
in the tiny globes of dew resting
delicately within a rainbow of wildflowers;
I rejoice in the way that dawn has waited,
allowing me to watch robins nesting
within stately, twining, white birch towers.
I rejoice in the knee-high grasses and reeds,
where a variety of sights and sounds
verifies the existence of a larger world than mine.
I rejoice in the movement of earth and leaves,
where ethereal hues and fragrances abound,
and the essence of earth, sky, and water, combine.
I rejoice in the wind, which brings a song to life,
joining nature's children as they sing
of her mysteries, hoping we will someday understand.
I rejoice in the ever-changing earth and sky,
where cooling rains and golden sunlight bring
new life, hope, and protection, for our mystical homeland.
