Gravity

Is this the pull of Gravity
Or the absence of you
There is no way to tell
As you recede from view
My world may slow down
My heart skip a beat
Without you near to me
I have become incomplete
Now there is a void
Where my soul should be
Forcing me to release
My grasp on eternity
Without your presence
There can be no reaction
As the pull of Gravity
Becomes my fatal attraction

I Know What You Thought...

I know what you thought
I wished you could see
What everyone thought
Because then I would be free
It was only a friendship
Now vanished in despair
No slip 'twixt cup and lip
Not a wondrous affair
A time to rearrange
A chance to get away
A person of change
Wanting me to stay
Wine by the firelight
Whispering dreams
Poetry into the night
A romance to redeem
A love of two minds
Slipped through my hands
It was not by your design
So you could not understand
You drew me back
With false guilt and shame
With never a lack
Of self-pity and disdain
You locked your door
You threw away the key
You denied forevermore
You chose to sacrifice me

Forest Fire

The blaze began on a distant shore
A simple fire, but you wanted more
Soon the heat was beyond compare
Yet still you didn't seem to care
The flames rose higher into the night
As you reveled in your fierce firelight
You danced around the conflagration
Claiming immortality with your creation
No power on earth could stop you now
Nor even heaven, as you made your vow
To send every spark into the world
Watching each flame as it unfurled
Bringing destruction to all things good
Chasing false daylight into the wood
Now trapped by the screams of your desire
You dissolve into the forest of eternal fire
