I Dreamed
I dreamed that I would hurt you,
Though I never dreamed I would;
For I was never wise enough,
Or I might have understood,
That there could be no future
Where indiscretions dwell.
I dreamed you no longer cared,
Though I never dreamed I might;
For lies had ripped our world apart
And time did not teach me what was right;
Within my vision of a perfect life
No truth taught me all would be well.
I dreamed no lesson was learned,
For I dreamed I would hurt you again;
Through unending days and nights,
Around and around, wondering when
This unearthly spiral might ever end,
Dreaming forever in my personal hell.
