Journey To Immortality
So, you try to make something of yourself
on your journey through life. You win a little,
you lose a little. When does it begin to dawn on you
that you are stuck in a rut... going nowhere... learning nada?
When do you realize you have no answers for why you are still here?
Probably when you find that you have left
way too much of yourself with other people,
in other places. Forgotten places, forgotten people.
When you offer yourself up to that altar of immorality,
for the sake of immortality... to become something you are not!
Start over! Okay? It's just too late
to start over when you find you have lost
so much of who you were, lost the dream of who
and what you wanted to be, lost yourself in a maze
of dreams that never quite come true... that never quite end!
Yet, here you sit, trying to be as positive
as the most positive, happy person you can think of!
You sit. And sit. And sit. And try not to think about
the awful things you have done in your life: Don't go there!
Immorality wins out when you think about the past... Don't think!
Are you still here? Still sitting, not thinking:
at least not thinking about the past... or the present.
Where do you go from here? It's true you can never go home!
You could try to be something you are not, reinvent yourself...
Go live a lie, ride off into the sunset, Journey into the Maze of Immortality...
