Crystal Ships

"Set Sail!" the call goes out,
As we listen for the ships to come about;
Though the wind's in their sails,
Their rigging neither whistles nor wails;
All's quiet but the echo of the boatswain's shout.

As the tide rolls out once more,
The ships move swiftly away from the shore;
In the glow of the morning sun,
Rainbow reflections dance on the horizon,
Revealing a sight unlike any seen before.

Transparent and glittering they went,
Crystal Ships from bow to stern, now evident;
Whispering chimes over the seas,
Sounding like glass bells on the breeze,
They disappear into a hole in the firmament.

Beautiful

*Beauty is as beauty does,
So the saying goes:
So keep your actions beautiful,
From your head down to your toes.

**Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
So that saying goes:
So throw your glasses away today,
If you want to cast aside your woes.

***She walks in beauty, is another phrase,
So everybody knows:
So choose your pathway carefully,
To fill your journey with rainbows.

****A thing of beauty is a joy forever,
So speaks this prose:
So if you want eternal happiness,
Buy things that won't decompose!

*I couldn't find where this quote actually comes from.
Anyone know?

**Remember how in that communion only,
beholding beauty with the eye of the mind,
he will be enabled to bring forth,
not images of beauty, but realities
for he has hold not of an image but of a reality,
and bringing forth and nourishing true virtue
to become the friend of God and be immortal,
if mortal man may." ~Plato
NOTE: This has often been misquoted as:
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

***She walks in beauty,
Like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes.
~Lord Byron

****A thing of beauty is a joy forever;
Its loveliness increases
it will never pass into nothingness.
~ John Keats

A FEW MORE QUOTES ABOUT BEAUTY:

"Do you love me because I am beautiful,
or am I beautiful because you love me?"
~Cinderella

Aristotle called beauty "the gift of God."
Socrates called it "a short-lived tyranny."
Theophrastus, "a silent deceit."
Theocritus, "an ivory mischief."
Carneades, "a sovereignty which stood in need of no guards."

A soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.
~Johann von Goeth

Let the beauty we love be what we do.
~Rumi

Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
~Kahlil Gibran

[The lover says:] How beautiful you are, now that you love me.
~Marlene Dietrich

There is a road from the eye to the heart that does not go through the intellect.
~Gilbert Keith Chesterton

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
~Confucius

In The Home

In the home, you have no identity,
you have no last name,
merely an initial.
We wouldn’t want anyone to know
who you really are.

In the home, you all have chores,
simple everyday tasks
to keep you busy.
We cannot allow you to become lazy
or to seem unique.

In the home, you will have lessons,
lectures to keep you on
the right path.
We want God to be your constant guide,
not the opposite sex.

In the home, you will still feel shame,
even with others like yourself;
you always feel different.
We want you to remember this feeling
so you won’t sin again.

In the home, you will become numb,
waiting to make your decision:
yes or no.
We want you to choose the best future
for your unborn child.

In the home, when your time comes,
you will be afraid and alone;
because nothing
We could do will truly prepare you for
making this choice.

When you leave the home, you will find
you still have no identity,
only an emptiness.
We’re sorry you don’t seem to understand, after all;
but, bless you for giving a piece of yourself away.
