Meadows Of Time

Far, far off in the distance
are the trees I climbed long ago;
And beyond them, further still,
is the dawn of all that I know.

In fields of growing things
I learned where I could tread;
Yet often I found myself
lost and filled with dread.

Each animal and bird taught me
to call upon all that I knew;
To use instincts long forgotten;
to honor another’s point of view.

In golden aisles of knowledge,
I wandered through many years;
Holding onto each grain of thought
became enough to silence my tears.

Now I reap the harvest I have sown,
with unrestrained anticipation;
Realizing time has been my friend;
never aging me in my imagination.
