Closet Normal

Come on out,
Come out to play,
I’ve decided to be normal today.
If you come out
And say you’ll stay,
You’ll see I’m making some normal headway!

Hang on tight,
Hold onto your seat,
Sometimes normal can be bittersweet.
But just hang tight,
No need to retreat,
Being normal often makes me feel complete.

Out of the closet,
To a brave new frontier,
Normally everything becomes quite clear.
Open up the closet,
It’s time to be sincere,
Can I be normal without letting the world interfere?

Well, let’s see...
There’s no place like a normal home
To let down my hair,
Walk around in my normal underwear,
Not care if I swear,
Nor experience abnormal despair
Because I’m normally the safest there.

And besides...
I decide what normal is, for me, anyway!
I choose to open or close my closet door each day!
The normal thing to do can oftentimes lead me astray;
So I will make sure my closet door is tightly locked today...

Then ask myself the same old question, somewhat normally:
Where the heck am I going to hide this blasted closet key?
